Less “I want” More “I am”

This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see people have, specially when it comes to New Year’s goals and resolutions.

We want to travel, we want more money, better relationships, a different job perhaps, a sexier body and so on.

Nothing wrong with that. You get to desire whatever you want.

However “I want” on its own is a statement of lack. We cannot want what we already have. And we cannot have what we ongoingly want.

If we always want more money, no amount will be enough.

Take that from someone who spent years “wanting better relationships”, nothing was ever enough. Because, as you know, there’s always room for growth in the universe.

So what then? Well, at the end of the day we aren’t really chasing after the external goals/accomplishments.

We want more money because we want to feel and be abundant. We want a better body because we want to feel and be healthy. We want better relationships because we want to feel loved and be loving. We want to travel because we want to feel and be free, adventurous!!

And the best part is that we all have access to these ways of being, right now. We don’t need to wait for a plane ticket in order to bring out or adventurous selves. We don’t need to wait for money to be generous, or to find a partner to be loving with those around us.

BEING – Goes first

HAVING – Second

So instead of wishing for things to be a certain way this year, let’s wish for us to embody, feel and be all the things we’ve always wanted.

On my end, my 2018 resolutions were to be the most disciplined, passionate, bold, loving, courageous and myself I have ever been.

Results will come as a secondary bonus.
